Unfortunately, as society and technology change so does the drug culture, which offers its own advancements... Drugs become stronger, more addictive, and more deadly than earlier generations every dreamed possible. And mainstream society actually entertains the notion that marijuana is medicinal, that it’s better to allow kids to drink at home so they can be "safe", and that there’s a pill for every ailment. In the past, ad campaigns, TV shows, movies, and the fashion industry glamorized the use of alcohol and other drugs. But now “drugvertising” has taken a giant leap forward with the advent of the Internet which is inadvertently spreading the drug culture through social networking sites like “MySpace”, “YouTube”, and “Facebook”, which feature online videos that show real scenes of underage drug use, violence, and other at-risk behaviors.

Some things never change... Alcohol and drug abuse are still the main contributing factors to domestic and gang-related violence, child abuse, criminal activity, juvenile delinquency, school dropout, preventable birth defects, and divorce.

The solution remains the same - informed, involved, loving parents and other concerned adults who will fight for our children.

The answer is still prevention. If we keep kids off drugs, we reduce the likelihood of other at-risk and dangerous behaviors. We save lives. We save the future.

What will keep our kids alcohol and other drug-free? You will. We will. Together. Join us.
