A: Red Ribbon Week is always held from October 23rd-31st of every year.
Q: What do we do if the first day of Red Ribbon Week falls in the middle of the week or on the weekend?
A: You may begin your Red Ribbon Activities on whatever day October 23rd falls on or you may wait to start the week on a Monday. In other words, you may schedule it on whatever dates you wish – it’s up to you. We will still support your efforts.
Q: How did Red Ribbon Week first begin?

Q: What is the main theme for Red Ribbon Week, this year?
A: There is no main theme but there are many from which to choose. However, there is a one new theme. To view a complete list of Red Ribbon Themes, visit the “The Red Ribbon Store” area on this web site. Then click the brown “Red Ribbon” tab. See “School Resources” and the “Red Ribbon Themes” pdf.
Q: I am a teacher from out-of-state. Are the Red Ribbon Themes on your web site the same for me?
A: Red Ribbon Themes may vary from state to state. However, if you would like to use the themes listed on our web site you may feel free to do so. Or, you may create your own.
Q: I am thinking about placing an Red Ribbon Order... How do I do that?
A: There are four ways to place an order:
- You may order online with a credit card but you must charge a minimum of $25.00. Please be aware that orders placed with a purchase order cannot be placed online.
- You may order by phone at (800) 732-4099 with a credit card or a purchase order. If you are using a purchase order, you must have the number ready when you call in your order and you must fax a copy of the purchase order to (864) 467-4102 so that the order may be processed. Please be aware that an order placed with a purchase order cannot be processed without a copy of the purchase order.
- You may order by fax at (864) 467-4102 with a credit card or a purchase order. Whether you are using a credit card or a purchase order, please make sure that you have included all of your credit card information or your purchase order number. If you are using a purchase order, we will need a copy. You may complete an order form and fax it along with a copy of the purchase order or you may simply fax the purchase order. You will find an order form on the back page of the "Red Ribbon Works Resource Catalog" (pdf) or you may call and request that one be faxed to you.
- You may order by mail. Send all mail orders to Red Ribbon Works, PO Box 10203, Greenville, SC 29603. You may pay with a credit card, a purchase order or a check. But whichever payment method you decide to use, please make sure that you have included your credit card information, your purchase order number or your check with your order. If you are paying by purchase order, we will need a copy. You may complete an order form and attach a copy of the purchase order or you may simply mail the purchase order. Please also be aware that if you send an order by US Mail, it may take some time for it to arrive at our location for processing and shipment.

Q: This year, I am the Red Ribbon Coordinator. The person who was the coordinator last year left without telling me what I need to do. I need help! Can you tell me where I can find some ideas and suggestions or some resources for Red Ribbon Week?

Q: I am a teacher in an out-of-state school but I would like my school to participate in the “SC Statewide Red Ribbon Poster Contest”. Is that possible?
A: The “SC Statewide Red Ribbon Poster Contest” is for South Carolina Residents only but you may feel free to use the contest information as a guide line for a poster contest held in your own school, county, or state.
Q: I am a teacher from out-of-state. May I use the Red Ribbon Resources provided in the “Red Ribbon/School Resources” section of the “The Red Ribbon Store” area on your web site such as the “Red Ribbon Notebook”, the “Red Ribbon Works Activity Sheets”, and the “Red Ribbon Themes” that you have provided on your web site?
A: The resources in the “Red Ribbon Notebook” were created specifically for schools in South Carolina but if you find them useful you may feel free to use them and/or print out copies. However, some of these materials may be copyrighted so we must ask that you do not alter them in any way.
