GFP Receives Community Enrichment Grant from the Community Foundation of Greenville!
June 9, 2010 - Greenville Family Partnership (GFP) has been awarded a $5,314 grant from the Community Foundation of Greenville. This grant will be used to provide outreach and education services to the Hispanic community of Greenville County. With this grant, Spanish speaking families will be able to access parenting workshops and tobacco, drug and alcohol prevention resources provided by GFP with the assistance of a bi-lingual outreach trainer.
In 1956, the Community Foundation of Greenville was established as a way to give back to the community and improve the quality of life for residents in Greenville County. The Community Foundation seeks to make meaningful, sustained differences in the community by helping donors respond to community needs that match their personal interests; providing effective grant-making that encourages collaboration and partnerships; and encouraging philanthropy that will leave a legacy for the next generation.
“We are honored to receive support from the Community Foundation of Greenville to expand our services to the Hispanic community of Greenville County,” said Carol Reeves, Executive Director of Greenville Family Partnership. “With the help of the foundation, we are able to provide parenting services and tobacco, drug, and alcohol information to our Spanish speaking families, in their native language. Our goal is to provide parents with appropriate training and education materials to ensure the safety and success of their children and family.”
